Saving Tomorrow From Drug and Alcohol Abuse
Today in the United States, substance abuse has reached scary proportions. Often elementary school children have even experimented with both drugs and alcohol. Many children have access to drugs and alcohol in their own homes. Drugs can be found in medicine chests, liquor cabinets, refrigerators, and everywhere you look. Young people who suffer from substance abuse are more likely to have an addiction to one or both substances as adults.
It is critical to educate yourself, your children, and other loved ones on the negative effects of substance abuse, in order to best prevent the problem from developing. Children who understand that the effects of drug and alcohol abuse prevent them from reaching their goals are less likely to try and use them. You and your loved ones should also refrain from abusing substances because children learn by example.
